If this mechanic were to come back, I think the function should depend on difficulty level. Here's my take;

 

Beginner Mode: Mickey will save you in every important battle no matter what.

 

Standard Mode: Mickey will save you no matter what, but only in certain battles.

 

Proud Mode: Mickey will save you in certain battles, up to five times.

 

Critical Mode: Mickey will save you in every important battle, but only once.

 

 

What do you guys think? Do any of YOU have your own little take on this?

I think it was fine like it was in KH II, that he could save you in some battles. :)

I don't know how the Mickey saving would be possible though, like from a story perspective, because he also has his task together with Riku, so it would be kinda difficult for him to help Sora as well xP

I like it. Mickey saves should definitely depend on difficulty lvl. If i had to change anything from the original it would be if Mickey dies then it's game over, not an instant heal for sora

Hmm, maybe. Might still need some tweaking to still ensure some challenge in each of the modes, but then again 0.2 was challenging enough on Standard, so maybe having a improved Mickey mechanic like this would be helpful to have in a fully fledged KH3.

I dunno that the mechanic would come back. Mickey did it in KH2 because he promised Riku to look after SDG, so that was basically his mission for the game. But in this one he's going after Aqua and stuff.

 

But I agree it should depend on difficulty level, tho it could work like in KH2 in the likelihood goes down a certain percentage every time. But, like, Critical it goes from 100% to 50% and so on, while Beginner goes from 100% to 90% and so on.

Hmm, this is a very smart way to approach the Mickey mechanic, should it return! It it does return, this could be the way it goes about! So long as the game is a challenge, I'll be fine with whatever shape this ends up taking! :3
