Hey there everyone, how's it going? So then, with the latest update for Union X in Japan, where we got the reveal of the 5th and final Union Leader, now all five said leaders have assembled, and the next phase of X's story takes full swing! What I'm curious to know is how much longer the story will be?

 

Considering we're about to enter September, and considering that Kingdom Hearts III comes out next year, I think it's safe to say we've well passed the midpoint of this story! If it's indeed the case, then I could see the game reaching it's end at around March of next year, maybe! Nomura said that Kingdom Hearts III would give closure to all character stories, and since X is a part of the Xehanort Saga, I very much doubt that the game's story will keep moving in even when Kingdom Hearts III comes out, cuz that would mean we'd still have an inconclusive saga, since we wouldn't know how the story of X ends! So I believe that before Kingdom Hearts III comes out, the story of Union X will wrap up first!

 

What do you all think?

I'm honestly not sure.  Like you, I can't see this game continuing once KH3 comes out, since everyone will be playing that instead.  So, they have 16 months max to continue the story.

Looking at Everglow's video, at about 726, it's 90% complete. So I'm guessing not too long to go.

At this point, it could be anyone's guess.

I am honestly not sure how much longer it will go.  It seems to me like there is still a lot of story to go.  We still don't know what is written in the Union leaders' journals or how the World is rebuilt (if Square-Enix intends to show us that at all).  Also, to my knowledge, we haven't found out what Maleficent was talking about in the secret ending to the browser version.  Not to mention that we still haven't gotten to the Keyblade War (if Square-Enix intends for the Keyblade War to be played in Union χ and not just in the browser version).  Granted, all of this could be covered in just a few story updates, and because of that, I think that Union χ will most likely be done before Kingdom Hearts III is released (at least the Japan version will be).  If not, I think that it will continue only a little bit longer after Kingdom Hearts III is released.

I was just about to say that as i found it very interesting that it happened. I don't know what it means but colour me tantalized 

 

As for how long, it's hard to say. For the story, I would imagine maybe two more arcs or so (Arc 1 Unchained x, Arc 2 Gathering the New Union Leaders, Arc 3 ????). However, KHUX is such a cash cow for Square, it's hard to imagine that they'd shut it down when the story ends. Maybe another 2-5 years after the story is done, Square will cancel the app like they did with the original KHx[chi] 

Nomura didn't say it would continue even after the release of KH3? I remember a similar declaration, so if I don't remember wrong I think it will end a few time before KH4 or something like that... or maybe it will end a year after KH3 or a tear before KH4, I don't know but I'm pretty sure Nomura said that so it will end after KH3 even if it could end just a day after the release lol

It'd probably end in the third year anniversary. That way, we would have 13 more updates before the narrative comes to a close, and it would correlate with the end of Kingdom Hearts X.

Hmm, I see! 90% you think? That sounds pretty complete! Maybe the final leg of the story lasts all the way up to March or April, or possibly go into the Summer!

Well, I wish that Nomura would give us more or less of a time frame, or at least let us know how much more of the story shall be covered in the game! No one ever asks him about X, so that's why he never talks about it in detail like his other KH projects! So if someone asks, he could answer!

Hmm, that is also true! It has always been tradition that when the game logo appears after a certain point during the run time of the game, it's because the story is just getting started! So we may be looking at more story for quite a while!

I believe you can achieve 100% if you complete every available quests and achieve every objectives.

And if this is the case, then who knows just how long Union X's story will run! But the thing here is, we've already been to all the worlds of the Princesses Of Heart, except for Enchanted Dominion and Radiant Garden, where Aurora and Kairi reside. We'll be getting Enchanted Dominion soon, so really, Radiant Garden would be the world that would be the focus next, and since we've completed the stories of the other worlds we've visited, it could be safe to assume that the story updates from here on out will become more significant and move the story along at a quicker pace, ya know?
