I don't think anyone else has made this thread, but before the KH3 fans come to my house and stare creepily into my window, figuring out how to "remove" me without any trace, i want to ask if anyone else wants to have another spin-off, because i want to know about Larxene and the other 3, mainly Larxene.

 

So yeah, does anyone else want to see another spin-off. (to the KH3 fans, don't kill me )

I think we should have more spin-offs, only because kh3 will probably not be out for a while. I am pretty sure nomura said it wouldn't be ready by the 10th anniversary in one of his interviews, plus its not really in development, so we should have a while until it comes out. So they should make more games before then so I don't get bored. Also, I dont see how Sora96 can know that there will not be anymore games for all of the systems he listed, considering we do not know when kh3 will come out. Possibly those systems will be dead after kh3 comes out, but that does not mean they can't make games for those systems before kh3 comes out. If kh3 is not in development right now, and they only have two other spin-offs to work on, including re:coded which releases in January, then I would not be shocked if they were able to make more spin-offs before kh3. Sorry if that sounded rude. (:

I actually agree with Sora96. The nintendo ds is being slated to be retired by its predecessor the 3DS. Usually companies stop planning to make games on a system once it has been announced that they are creating a newer and better system. They see more dollar signs with the newer product than with the old. Not only that it means better graphics and more room for better engines. We already have one kh game that is being planned to come out on the 3DS, why would they take a step back and plan a new game with the older model? I could see it if it were a case like RE COM. However they barrowed a lot from KH2's physics engine they might as have just through the card game idea out the window. But, this was planned to be a low budget and if I remember correctly (prolly dont) but RE COM had been planned to come out before the death of the ps2. Which makes it the same case as RE CODED.

 

REmakes will be slated to go on the older machines. But all brand new games are going to go with where they can make the most profit. I've seen the patterns through out the years with rare exceptions. Might I add that the psp was doing terrible against the ds for years and years.

 

Now to get back on topic. Yes I would want another spin off on the other org members. But I'd only want it if it meant they higher a separate team where its people have no connection to the production of KH3.

I wouldn't quite call them "spin-offs" either, because they all contribute to the main plot in some way.

But I wouldn't mind seeing more games. I'd like that better than remakes.

(I'd really like one about the Organization, or about Axel and Saix's plan.)

Says you, the ps2 went on for ten years then quietly died, the psp can do the same, and Sony has not annouced making a psp2, yet.

How would you have a healing character in Dissidia exactly?

When it comes down to it though, most FF games don't have a true protagonist, but ratehr several equally important characters.

Lightning is supposed to be the protagonist of FF13, yet the story barely touches on her.

Depends on your definition of the word "spin-off". The one most people use is the one you provided, in which the story focuses on a different character. However, in a much broader and more accurate sense of the word, a spin-off is a work derived from a pre-existing piece. A spin-off for this series would be something that is entirely irrelevant to the series yet still retains some similarities. For example, a game in which the main focus is of Xion's relationship with her bed. Obviously, this holds absolutely no importance whatsoever as well as not being canon. This is a true spin-off.

 

By that definition, the only real spin-off this series has had is that terrible Verizon game Disney made.

No Kingdom Hearts game is a spin-off, they are just side stories contributing to the main story.

I've had enough of KH sidestories for one lifetime, but I'm sure a couple of more will come out until we can get KH3.

KH3D seems meaningful though.

Then Re:coded was announced, but he said that it was like another game was added to the roster, bringing the total count up to three. BBSFM has not been confirmed to be the remaining game, therefore, there is still one remaining.
