I think sora will be a keyblade master because 1. He has ventus (Roxas) inside his heart. 2. In Kh 1 sora got the keyblade automatically but Riku took some effort to get it. and 3. Before ventus went in sora's heart aqua said "He looks allot like ven" in birth by sleep. So thats what I think.

That makes no difference. The only advantage to having Ven within him was getting the dual wield ability and the second Keyblade. Asides from that, he inherited nothing from Ven. Besides, Riku has Terra in his heart, and Terra's a Master in all but name :

That's not how it happened. I'll explain:

 

Remember the darkness that was surrounding Riku and Sora right before he disappeared? That was Riku's darkness, and the light that appeared afterwards was Riku's light. Sora touched that light, and in doing so, Riku's Keyblade, the Kingdom Key, temporarily went to Sora.

 

In Hollow Bastion, Sora's heart had grown weak with self doubt and Riku's "betrayal", and because of this, Riku was able to reclaim his lost Keyblade. However, afterwards, Sora was able to prove his own heart to be stronger, and the Kingdom Key itself chose him over its intended wielder. As you can see, it didn't happen automatically. They both had to work for the Keyblade.

That's just irrelevant.

Just because in Birth By Sleep that only Aqua became a keyblade master, does NOT mean that only Sora or Riku will become a keyblade master. Take in rememberance that the only reason that Terra didn't become a keyblade master was because that he showed darkness during the Mark of Mastery Test, if it weren't for that, then both of them: Aqua and Terra would've probably been keyblade masters because both of their powers were equivalent. So unless Sora or Riku show darkness, then both of them, to me will become keyblade masters because both of their powers are equivalent.

Personally, I think I think they will both become masters. Kingdom Hearts 3D will be a test of their ability to trust each other, and various other things, and at the end of the game they will both become keyblade masters. Thus, leading onto Kingdom Hearts 3, that's my two cents anyway.

 

I would like a whole Riku wins, Sora loses scenario though, as it would add character development throughout the course of the game and would be a nice plot element.

No Sora's not an ordinary guy ._. Sora used to have and probably still has Ven's heart within him.

im casting my vote for riku and agreeing with the sora failing concept.more and more we are seeing the series become like an anime.from my experience with it im guessing they will give the hero a bit of decent into the darkness.the envy he feels toward riku passing,i think itll be to much for him.soras gonna have to figure out that keyblade master is just a title.he doesnt need it.

I think they'd both pass. I doubt seeing Sora going into a serious evil phase, he's just to goofy and happy-go-lucky. But both of them have probably met the requirements for being a master.

They'll both win. That much, I am almost certain. Why? Because why would they make an epic game for a whole new device with such epicness only for one of them to fail? (lame argument is lame on my part)

I personally hope niether,give them a slap of reality and so they don't look like mary sues who got everything they wanted and more.

Aqua is the only master you need to know!

Sora ofc Ven's Heart is in him...Ven had a keyblade and nearly became Master...also he is the one to the X Blade.I don't think we are done with it....Xhehanort is back for 90% so...Sora has to be the Keyblade Master or best Yen Sid can give it to both of them cause both of them fought Xemnas,Sora has an Advantage cause he defeated also Ansem(heartless).But ofc bring Aqua back as fast a possible

I think maybe Riku will pass and Sora will lose himself to the darkness think about it KH3D is said to have a shocking ending do you really think Riku falling to the darkness is shocking at all?
