This is where I like to distinguish between expectation and hope

Expecting for the good, hoping for the best

Because I think most people had reasonable expectations, and high hopes

From the 2001 fans perspective, it's the first time in years since we had a proper KH game on a console
from the newer fans perspective, a lot of them wanted that super nice fun gameplay that Kh1FM and KH2FM gave them on the bundle

so either way, expectations were high

You know, the weird thing is that I didn't have any expectations when it came to KH3 a few weeks pre release

I am not shy to admit I saw them leaks

But I saw them for different reasons than one might expect

as a 2001 fan, i was just ready to be able to play KH on the couch in front of a TV again haha
regardless of how it turned out

nostalgia was huge for many of us

I had this creeping feeling, back in December, that something was amiss

You know, you can only hold on to your hope until a certain point

oh for sure! and those trailers didnt help a whole lot

And when December hit and no more trailers with new worlds had happened, and especially with the final battle trailer... I started getting worried that what we saw was what we were gonna get

I'm going to be very up front and say that I expected KH3 would be a game in the vein of KH1&2 and once December rolled round and I realised Leon was nowhere to be seen I got worried and looked at the leaks

Yes, that was weird

You show all the worlds, but don't say you showed all the worlds when you're done showing them

I mean be kind of expected that he would mean only the Disney Worlds and not the original final ending final boss world

I think it's very unfair to not understand why people think KH3 isn't a good KH3, because it's so very sidegamey and people rightfully did not expect that

Yeah I didn't think he'd show everything

You see, the sidegamey conment is very interesting

As soon as I saw scala tho I realised it was cable town and knew there was nothing else

Because I would actually agree

Because its objectively true

KH3 has the wide scope of a sidegame

It's like KH3 has the markings of a numbered title, yet it doesn't feel like one
