They try with the heartless arena, fail

So they would have to stop with everything they were doing and go after the princesses of light instead of making use of the lights that arrived

They try with terranort, succeed and then subsequently fail

Then they try with Riku's big xehanort shadow thing

and fail again

Then they go "okay I guess we can clash now

So, they intentionally screwed with the A plan

And were willing to resort to the B-plan even though it would take more time

Yeah it confuses me

Might have been a test of strength

If they couldn't get past the hurdles of the first part, then they couldn't forge it in the intended way

So even if they die, there is still plan B and maybe even a C

I guess I know why it was done from a writing perspective

To enable cool moments

like UX ting and Yen Sid

If they wanted to test their strength, that would obe fine. However, the "not being able to forge it the intended way if they weren't strong enough" part doesn't fly when their B-plan is a bunch of princess who can't even put on a fight

Kill them and use their hearts

Not to mention that, if they killed Kairi, then both the A-plan and the B-plan would have failed

Also, can we bring up this new seven hearts thing?

I mean, if there can be new princesses then someone will take Kairi's place

Yeah, sure, at this point it feels like anything goes

Keyblade Graveyard to me flits between great moments and scratch head moments

It's really all over the place

Why was it necessary to suddenly get a new batch of seven hearts (with Kairi still being one) . Wouldn't it make more sense to just wait until they're all dead before getting a new generation of pure hearts?

Not being an ass or anything, but what moments in KG would you consider great?

UX moment, chasing the reaper, Terra coming back, Nort Court, Marluxia's death

The only moment I found great was the one that happened outside of it, i.e. The Final World
