So if they spend cutscenes to recap past knowledge, what's the point in adding something before Olympus to ease people into it?

So that they get it out of the way

I suppose it's like, padding the whole game with recap, or shoving all the recap into a big exposition thing in the beginning

Right, but then it's just a giant info dump in the beginning of the game

But what we have now is to tell the important knowledge when it needs to so new players can still be engaged

Yeah, but Roxas only had KH1 to worry about

I mean what they could do is have books in the tutorial area set up like little cutscene sequences

I guess for new players it's not as boring, but then they're still continually given information both new and old

So more or less what 3D did, but here's the issue. This isn't solving anything with KH3 other than getting the padded stuff out of the way

Which means each transition from world to world is even more barren

Yeah KH3 can never be healed ?

I would leave the story open for new cutscenes to be made with actual things happening

If they added padded stuff like this, then chances are higher they couldn't add more "actual things that happen"

People always say "KH3 can do this and that, but also there and then" but here's the thing, issues happen while developing games. I truly believe they wanted to add more but couldn't because of reasons we don't know about

That's no excuse that they couldn't do a better job, because they really could, but saying they should get all the stuff at the beginning of the game won't solve anything

I mean, I don't think Nomura was completely happy with the state of KH3 either
