Good point, but that doesn't mean you can't incorporate more RPG elements.

I can guarantee an awful lot of people who heard "more NPCs in the worlds" also thought of sidequests coming along with them.

He said they were going to be in areas where heartless attacked and would run away during combat

That was early into development, so a scratched idea

He said that talking to NPCs is important and that they’ll provide quests

He also said guard npcs would help you

That early version of KH3 sounds wild.
