And here's the thing, 3D didn't have to conclude anything, it only had the job of making the snowball of plot threads and convolutedness even larger.

Idk personally, 3D upon a second or third time really clicked for me in a lot of areas

3 does those too but I'm seeing where it would have helped if the story was split up a bit more in KH3

DDD, and by extension BBS, existed to setup the conclusion

So it can get away with being a constant crescendo of stakes and hype, because it's just building up what's to come.

BBS’ job was to establish Xehanort as a character/antagonist

And DDD was meant to establish the plan

And here we are now in 3 with it all together

But KH3 can't. And KH3 is set up far too much like another side game
