More so I will never wait for a game, nor will I ever devote my time and energy to anything like I did KH3

I guess that's more fair

Like I'm not kidding this game was a part of me growing up

KH3 was definitely an event, its mere existence generating more hype than its content

I don't know if any other KH game will hit those heights

Prolly not

I think that part is the important part to consider, "devoting time and energy"

Probably not, if I'm being honest.

Like you say, it was an event that brought together all sorts

unless they have KH4 take like I dont know 14 years again then maybe, but lightning never strikes twice

I dont even think new players will ever feel the way alot of people felt about KH3

Statistically I'm sure lightning would eventually strike twice

? Would take a long time

I doubt the series will be around forever though

Nothing lasts forever

Would take even more poor planning while we're at it, Quid.

so by the time that happens most people who have loved this series will likely be gone

But yeah, I severely doubt it'll ever reach as much of a fever pitch as this

Like I bought consoles just to play the next entry of this series

Waiting for KH3 for me was like waiting for the conclusion to a long running book series

People will definitely still be hyped for the next games but it'll never have this lingering atmosphere of "this is the conclusion we have been waiting for".

Each novel sort of got me more excited to see the end

No culmination of the whole story, no turning point for the plot, just another addition to the franchise

Who knows if Nomura even has an end to everything in mind, as far as we're aware he may be coming up with other arcs already as we speak

Its a feeling that I cant really shake, like "did I really wait 14 years for just another sequel?"

I think not many people will look at KH3 and go "I'm done". It's definitely missing the mark for a decent amount of people but I think most fans are willing to at least see through to the next main game. And if that's in a similar vein to this one then we will probably see some kinda mass exodus. The promise of KH3 already managed to string along a lot of fans who weren't so easily impressed by the handhelds, so if a KH4 makes all the same mistakes as KH3 I reckon that will be the point that people will become "done" with the series

Yeah, KH4 has a lot on its shoulders as it stands.

Just like KH3 also had a lot on its shoulders, though arguably KH3 had much more.

KH3 had alot riding on it to me

Like we had so many things building to this moment throughout the series

I will definitely keep up with the KH4 news and see where the series is going, but I'll take more the role of observant and not really get sucked into the hype machine.

Me neither
