You know, I’m thinking that this is just one of those times where it’s a heavily fantastical element and we kinda just have to go with it here but.. that’s just my thought

like a person in a previous title could use their heart to create a keyblade that can beat another keyblade. In KH3, were talking rewriting time itself because your heart has that power

The reason we go to Disney worlds is to learn the power, and then after all the time the plot just got stuck on hold so we could learn, we end up not learning it but rather being told that we always had it.

so anyone with a keyblade whose like ventus level could theoretically jump into dream worlds, unlock seven keyholes, and boom you could have the power of waking

Like.. look.. With the amount of times literally friendship and bonds have beaten people in this series(keyblades also literally symbolizing friendship and bonds also).. I think it’s safe to say that an instance of “The power was in you all along and it comes from your connections” is to be expected

Okay so like in KH1 sora beats Ansem because he learned how to fly in peter pan world

he gets the will to go on and fight because riku called to him, in a similar way when Kairi called to him

There’s so many stories out there with “here’s a thing that can be worked towards” that I think you’ll probably blow a fuse at how common it actually becomes, that I don’t think it’s worth it going in on “but if this person can do it, then these people can too, actually”

The only way to negate it is by making your protagonist turn out to apparently be special in some shape or form

Or, establish a rule on why said character really shouldn’t do the thing
