i don't think kh3 was ever going to truly satisfy anybody. With a title as mystifying and hyped up as this, it was bound to fail in that regard

I don't think that's true, I mean I'm sure a minority would have remained displeased regardless, there's people out here who vehemently only like KH1 and/or 2 after all. But I think for the general community, most of us didn't have high expectations. Most people thought KH3 would follow 1 and 2's formula

I mean, it's easy to say that, but hype unconsciously increases the longer the wait is, expectations grow more and more

Instead it follows DDD's formula, which I think is the real root cause of the disappointment. The majority could have easily been avoided as the gummi ship is stellar and the gameplay is leagues better than what was expected

Ofc, I'm not denying that is the case but I pretty strongly remember that the general consensus on the forums was "I don't expect much"
