Sadly when you make the actual game underwhelming, you have to show a lot about what you're doing to fix it to get people on board.

When the first Re:Mind teaser rolled around, a lot of people reasonably assumed it was going to be more Union Cross bullshit

I'm quite happy it isn't tbh

But now that we know that there is more to it than just that, specifically Final Fantasy characters getting something and KBG getting reworked is some areas, it's going to garner a lot more good will from fans who were unhappy.
