Yeah I mean like, I can imagine things that I do and don't want death to be. Religion helps as a compass to a lot of people, to tell people "No, this is what happens when you die. And this is how you get into the good part of it" It takes away a lot of that fear and it takes away confusion. It's generally a good thing for the populace, though I'm sure that could be debated, but I don't go deep into the societal conflicts over religion so I really don't know. But it generally makes people comfortable. Personally, I'm not religious, but I don't really think it's a bad thing to be in general. I mean, you die you die lol. Nothing can really change that

But it does say it would be “a life more real than this one”

oh no

we are in a world of data

Lol

But yeah bible talks about floating cities made of gold on new earth

dope

but how do we know about all that ?

Basically this man named John, the last surviving apostle was exiled to an island where Jesus came to him and showed him visions of the future and explained what each symbol meant

god went there already ? or he made the place ?

He explained that one day there’d be a great famine

One that spread across the world

And that would be the first sign of the book of revelations

The name means to reveal, like it’s telling the future

I would recommend it after some other books in the Bible

sorry but it's too boring i dropped after Noah

Because learning about Jesus is more important since the Bible is about him and his lineage

You can skip ahead

It’s like 50 different authors

i don't care enough i think, it's easier to ask someone what I want

See there was a council that, in the year 200 brought the books together to create the Bible we know today

Before this they were manuscripts protected from being destroyed

These were the ones that got accepted to be in the Bible

Because they found them all to be non contradictory to one another

well maybe you can explain to me who were the people the sons of adam and eve went to live with cause I couldn't understand where they came from

The book of Genesis is poetry literature

This means it’s more meant to be mostly symbolism

The creation story anyway

so it's not how it happened ?

You see the first 5 books of the Bible are written by Moses

Moses would receive visions from god about the beginning of earth and wrote what he saw in the Bible

One character that is important is king David

Who was deemed “the man after God’s own heart”

He lived in aproximatley 1600 bce

He was deemed that because god said to David “truly this is a man after my own heart”

yeah i know him cause we share the name and looked him up a few time

What does “starter edition” entail
