Due to their popularity I'm sure Pokemon games are divisive by default, but the situation with SWSH is one that I don't remember seeing before.

Perhaps there's a reason for swsh being so divisive?

Yeah, this is all the other times, but basically times 10

Like, even if past games were questionable when it came to mechanics and other design choices, they still had polish.
SWSH is the first mainline game since arguably Gen 2 that doesn't seem polished.

If you ask me Gen 6 was meh but it gets a pass because "jumo to 3d"

oh no.. Gen 4 was a buggy mess at times, that it was mostly spaghetti code that just worked

they had a service up till 2018 to help players who encountered the bugs og gen 4

again, love gen 4

I'll concede that gen 4 had a lot of spaghetti and bugs, but SWSH is visually underwhelming to boot

And yet, nowhere near the total lack of content like swsh

But towns, smaller spaces? Those look surprisingly good with their art direction

This is the crux of the issue. Every gen took and added but it mostly felt worth it. This doesn't

But, the environment outside of that is just....They could do so much more for a Switch game

But the game in its entirety, it just doesn't look polished, heck, it looks unfinished in certain places.

honestly, this being their first time doing real open world, It's barren, more than I thoguht it'd be

Seeing as the anime is about all the different regions, and the cards are STILL selling Alola packs, they could have delayed this game

The towns look good? Yes, they do. But how much time do you actually spend on towns compared to the overworld, which GF has been pushing very hard
