There's no real difference between me watching a play through of the game and playing it when it comes to making my mind up

I don’t think SwSh was as malicious as you might be thinking or as simple as “Lol you’ll all buy it anyway.”

It’s plain to see they wanted to do something big but I also think something went horribly wrong, not just resource mismanagement and TPC’s greed

But I say that as someone who’s basically looked at everything about this and listening to people who have dropped Pokémon ages ago

@Silent Multiverse as for swsh, I absolutely think I would have fun with the game, because you can still catch/battle and have badges. But that's all can do and the removal of content is definitely not a system seller for me. I also don't want gamefreak to think this is an acceptable direction so I'm not gonna buy it even if I woukd enjoy it. Ultimately my standards for having fun are very low but my expectations for the franchise are mid. So I weighed up whether or not its worth it and ultimately I decided it wasn't

Fans probably fall under several different levels of interest, like this:

Fans who want to play pokemon and don't care whether it improves or not.
Fans who want to play pokemon, want pokemon to improve, but aren't willing to sacrifice playing pokemon in order to incentivize pokemon to improve.
Fans who want to play pokemon, want pokemon to improve, and are willing to sacrifice playing pokemon in order to incentivize pokemon to improve.
So as long as the number of fans in groups 1 and 2 outnumber fans in group 3, pokemon has no reason to improve.
This isn't good or bad, it's just how it is.
