tbh I give Sword and Shield a pass. most of the QoL changes are very good and the concept of the raids is a cool idea, it's just the online sucks

Inazuma Eleven by the way is one of the most customizable RPGs ever, not in term of looks but in terms of character abilities and skills

This is why gamefreak don't keep the same features, they want people to always have a reason to play older games. They said it themselves

It really is though.. This is the same fanbase that complains about the story being too railroad-y and handholding and being "intrusive" only to turn around and call the story is weak in the next entry. And asks for a more traditional experience and more of their gen 1 stuff back

Pretty much everyone agrees Gen V had the best story but that was a good compromise on exploration and story

my main problem with the story is that it's always about a legendary pokemon. and that the dialogues are pretty awful for adults

Yeah, it is but pokemon isn't like that

Pokemon has always had some exploration

No, actually, you'll find people even for Gen 5 who call it railroad-y

I'll happily say Gen 5 is where the trend started
