The recent titles haven't been in line wihh older games in that respect

Yes, hence why anytime Pokemon tries to introduce things other JRPGs do, it's suddenly viewed as bad

Yes they were always more or less linear but there was always exploration to happen

Maybe it's time to consider that it's not a "traditional" jrpg, but it's own sub genre? It's been around for 20+years after all

People view new features as just tedious but then ask for them back the next time it's just really silly

If you're talking about exp share there's a legitimate reason why people dislike the always on nature of it. It does not cost anything to make it toggle able

And I'm genuinely convincedthese people are the reason why Pokemon holds itself back.. You really telling me, the same series that gave us Gen 5, one of the most ambitous titles, suddenly doesn't want to be anymore, aside from the fact, well, they're expected to make a full game every year??

ah

it's just why should I buy Pokemon for 60€ if I can get P5 for 40 Dollars with a 120 hour long and good story, almost perfectly balanced gameplay, multiple difficulty modes, high variety of personas, a lot of options, good difficulty curve.... The only selling point of pokemon at this point is that it's a pokemon game that lives from the 90s hype

Persona 5's story is kinda weak tho.. still enjoyable presentation

I mean it's not as good as p4 Golden

Lmao, it's probably leagues above pokemon

but still leagues above pokemon

Same reason why someone chooses another Fifa game over something like God of War

It's fun for whoever that person is

^

Pokemon will always be fun as long as you can catch, battle and trade.

I think the pokemon devs are capable of making a good game, but they need more workforce and more time

If you don't find it fun, then it's completely fine

I'm 99% sure I'd find it fun

But the thing is, it's 60 for half the content of older games

I personaly think most don't, and don't really like JRPGs

But there's no reason to use another game, which is very different from gameplay to story and to presentation to something else that has kept the same thing over and over again

And the older games were 30 for double the content
