never owned one though, and I didn’t feel the need for one anyway

because newer hardware got harder and harder to hack

the DS and GBA were simpler, basically as simple as just getting a flashcart and you're good

GBA is honestly seems harder to do than ds to me ?

And not to mention emulators.. newer hardware, even as simple as a 3ds, are hard to emulator

because of their coding

nah.. gba was easy.. You just get a GBA flashcard, the same as an r$

The PS2/wii/DS/PSP era was a golden time for gaming

Of course the more complex a console gets, the harder it gets to hack it

Oh a gba flashcart? I thought you could download gba roms onto a DS cart

I tried doing that and the results were bleak

well, depending on the flashcart, you can get one that does it

but those are more expensive

But anyway, I'd recommend buying an R4 to anyone with a DS, there's some gems on that console
