I mean, I understand why* they would do it. Joker is the most profitable comic book movie ever. Had a budget of like 66 million and is over a billion in the box office. That's *huge, especially for an R-rated movie

They want to push their luck.

Sequels can be made based on ideas though

But it's not like all sequels come from uncreativity

it can come from wanting to urther explore a character beyond their establishment

should have just took the money and made another movie

It seems like the universe has this unwritten rule that most third movies in a franchise have to either suck or not be as good as their predecessors

I can only think of Return of the King as an exception right now
