Personally I don't think sonic is about "every level has to be done in a minute" it's about making really tough puzzles and platforming challenges, and it's on the player to memorise it enough to be able to speedrun

Boost is a bad mechanic in every game

Sonic forces ruined it entirely

Sonic Forces you to Press to win

Unleashed had great levels

pain even though unleashed is great, I feel like boost cheapens things

Sonic team is just using boost as an excuse now

Unleashed is definitely difficult

Some of that is on intent, some of that is Sonic controlling awkwardly

Especially in mid air

Fair dos, it was pretty tough

There are some sections built for boost

Unlike everything that came after it where its just spam

At this point I'd rather they get rid of it

Unleashed was more built on route memorization, the boost was a reward for being able to dodge obstacles

Meanwhile Forces doesn't feel that good to replay for virtue of it being easy

And also having an unbelievably broken Air Boost for some reason

Mortar Canyon was the first fully 3D level since Colors and you can skip 50% of it with Air Boost

I want the Adventure formula back simply to have a game where you have better control over Sonic

I just wanna play as Tails again
