Holy crap guys! I made a revelation about myself
The reason I’m not impressed with my art, despite improving from last year, is that I lack inspiration

I look at my old pieces and remember what inspired me to draw that piece

But I look at my current stuff and nothing is inspiring most of it

Maybe it's about the subject matter.

Perhaps there isn't enough intrinsic motivation around it that appeals to your own personal interests and satisfaction.

For example. Conveniently around the same time we read Lord of the Flies in English, I have a lot of drawings of little half cat boys causing havoc

It's just has a different appeal and sense of satisfaction, even if you feel a sense of accomplishment either way.

Although I do suppose I want taking art last year

So I drew a lot and learned on my own

It’s still sucks mentally. I improved in faces and proportions but I dis-improoved in bodies, foreshortening, dynamic angles, men, etc
