i feel like we can blame 60% of the games issues at launch on the engine switch

What I do know is that KH3 post engine switch had 4 and a half years of dev time

but prior to that kh3 had already 2 and a half years of time

Well, who knows really

DDD came out near the end of 2012 and KH3 probably went through some pre-production

So the actual development began in 2013

So the switch happened one and a half years in

Just imagine how Nomura must have felt at that moment

Losing almost two years of KH3 development and having to start again from scratch, and then Square puts him as the director of FF7R of all games.
