then im subjectively immoral

depends the country

Well if we accept God exists, and we accept that he resides above the heavens (I think this is the case for some religions) and its accepted he gave humans free will to do as they please, then we also accept that there is a day of reckoning where he will give out justice.

I don't think it's expected that someone will just mosey on to the next life with no justice enacted if they have sinned. And I don't think religious rules, when boiled down to the basics, are uber complex. It's really just "don't be a douche"

As for someone who doesn't believe in God, doing good deeds all their life and still going to hell for their troubles, well I'm not a scholar at all but I feel like I should say, if you are aware that there's a school of thought that accepts the after life as real, and aware that there's one that doesn't, it doesn't cost you anything to believe in it. At worst, if it's not true, you'll die and that's it, at best, you would have made it to there

Isn't that, like, extremely cynical though

But I think it's the simplest argument

It does cost you to believe in it though. Also I'd say a benevolent god would prefer an honest life well lived to lip service paid out of something as cynical as "Well I lose nothing."

Pascal's wager, which is the argument you just made, is extremely flawed.

Is God really going to appreciate the fact that you believed in him and in the afterlife just because "it's better than believing the contrary"

does god really care ?

Oh right, I forgot it had a name

It also doesn't account for the idea that Thor or Zeus might exist and not appreciate you worshipping a completely different god from a completely different religion.

Depends on what you believe in

Depends on what you believe in, Noleen

To you God doesn't care because he may as well not exist

Well I'm not saying that it's appreciated or anything, I'm speaking from the pov of a human who might be making that choice

To others he exists and cares

Well I'm not saying that it's appreciated or anything, I'm speaking from the pov of a human

why would god kill people with coronavirus ? ?

Ok, but the choice fails to account for scenarios where believing is actively harmful because of the afterlife being run by someone who wouldn't approve of that.

Who said it's God who is doing the killing
