I'd argue that episode ardyn should be the first thing you play before anything else even if it spoils the willing and everything about him

i dont mind being spoiled in that regard

I'd argue 15 is more about the characters so getting spoiled about the villain isn't necessarily a big deal

Some people think you should play it after because it spoils stuff but there's no real official opinion I guess it's whatever you like

It seems based on what you say that lore wise and for the product as a whole, playing the DLC would be ideal
in terms of just playing XV, then it doesnt matter

i assume Episode Ardyn is the only one not in the royal edition?

But if you go around and check everything in the beginning of the episode it service has a good introduction and you can actually learn about the world instead of jumping straight into the main game and being confused about a lot of things
