The way they connected w/ the past spirits makes sense since

the Avatar cycle works by Raava passing from body to body along w/ the human's own spirit, so they could be their own entity that newer Avatar hosts can connect for a chat.

imagine how shitty Aang's avatar would've been if it included

She's always been there, but they probably didn't have her character thought up at the time.

The god of light god of darkness crap has no place in the avatar universe

Not saying its a bad concept, but one that doesn't suit avatars natural world

The spirit world felt so lame compared to what it couldve been

It was like a lame area with some cool spots

Spirit world was 1000000 times better in avatar

Despite what we didnt see it was far more natural and organic looking, like despite it's spiritual nature its a plane that exists in their world

Like when Aang ended up in the spirit library
