The grades are weighted differently based on the subject

So for example, tests have a heavier impact on your grade

You can have all As, fail one test, and your grade drops a letter grade

Yeah same happens here, except if you fail the test you fail the whole thing,

It can also be good if,say,a class has homework as a high part of the grade

That is,if you always do your homework

But it also depends on if the teacher is a dick or not

The bad parts about weighted grades is if you're not doing well and an exam is coming up, it's a lot harder to determine the minimum you need to get your overall grade up

Oh yeah if you fail an exam in LC you fail LC

Had like one teacher who gave me a 3 in Norwegian when I had mostly gotten 4 because of a few weird sentences on my last test

We have like one final exam at the end of the year, which is a separate grade

You get picked into a subject and that's what you have to finish

And that's an external examiner who does the grading

And here we did multiple exams per subject and coursework too. Though I think these days coursework is non existent
