I dont think it's fair as Dark Souls is

Bosses auto block everything except you get behind them

And they can rapidly recover the stagger bar

While you are screwed after you block 2 hits

Well, Dark Souls have a balance between unfair and fair, I think, because there’s some pretty unfair stuff to it, but you can get over it

I think the fpcus on deflecting was a big mistake

This is all my opinion only

As for the narrative approach, I’d say it’s because people really love digging into it and theorizing

Especially with framedrops

and latency

I found the final boss the cheapest

Literally doesn't react to attacks and keeps spamming

you cant escape his attacks on first try due to dodge nerf

you gotta deflect attacks

sekiro is literally guitar hero

its a rhythm game

theres a mini boss that was taking me ages

i quickly figured out if you deflected hi9s 2 swift strikes 3 times in a row he would eb killed

so i done that

its tapping 1 button at the right time

I am not a massive fan of Dark Soul's narrative tbh, while it can be fun to look at item descriptions and piece together what you think everything means from the amount of vague hints you get, I kind of also like an actual main story with cutscenes and characters. (I guess the main issue is that Miyazaki was the one behind the DS lore and it was a bunch of berserk references and things he thought were cool with the same kind of characters always cropping up). I guess I can give it a chance with GRRM on board, he might make it fresh because I think the whole Miyazaki style story is something im a bit done with.

I don't think Miyazaki was behind it, but it was based off of Berserk

Actually, Miyazaki’s storytelling comes from the fact that, as a child, he’d often read stories, such as from western literature, and he’d always piece together what the story actually was in his head despite the fact it usually wasn’t, due to his lack of knowing certain words or phrases... he uses that storytelling to have people experience that same feeling of creating a story in your head @Sandy Klaws#9359 @Otti#8624

Bloodborne is still my favourite setting just cause I love lovecraft but there are still the same dark souls element pouring into it in places. I think he does, he does a lot of the writing for those games, now there are probably a few other people.

yeah I know where his storytelling comes from, I was just saying a lot of the DS lore has a lot of the same elements that I am a bit bored off.

Yeah, I havent played Sekiro so idk about its lore. I just like Lovecraft and Otherworldly monsters, so the aesthetics draw me in more.
