It is awful though

Basically for those who don't know, the game plays adverts during loading screens (adverts for Fox TV shows etc) and even when your loading screen is done... You have to wait for the ad to finish

In a fully paid game

oh my gosh that sounds awful

NBA is like one of the worst for monetization already

That's just a bitch move

During loading screens isn't that much better but it's fine, but forcing you to stay to watch the whole thing is really bad

and yet still these games will sell ugh

And what if they start incorporating it into game mechanics like mobile games do? Imagine that

I mean, YT is already at 2 ads many of which are not skippable

so i wouldnt be too surprised

and that's the point where I stop buying new games or wait for people to make adblockers for games

EA always happy to fill the villain role

hey our games are 15 bucks, with ads and special prizes that you can pay for

Welp, let's hope this goes big too so it doesn't happen in the future

Basically

Because companies like EA will want to normalise it as much as possible

And some stuff that is normal now, wasn't normal in the past

So that can keep happening

it's why we need AAA games to work together to kill bad trends like that

make gaming about games, not cash grabs and cinematic experiences
