i am kind of biased because i am scarred by vinegar... when i first started getting into cooking, i was trying to make these portobello mushroom steaks.. and you were supposed to marinate them in balsamic vinegar and other spices.. BUT i didn't realize at the time you were supposed to just brush the marinade over them.... instead i submerged them in a bag like marinating a real steak....

but mushrooms are little sponges

and soaked up ALL THE VINEGAR
