Lmao well Stan Lee said pretty much the same stuff about all the actors

Stan Lee never saw FFH

seasalt_shinji

he has never said that bout tobey and garfield i believe

RIP tho big man ? ?

I'm sure he has because I saw someone debunk this line of thought with older newspaper clips

With his comments about the other two

Oh i heard a theory bout the raimi trilogy regarding bruce campbell

it sound like it would have been a possiblity for spidey 4

that was a theory back then and is still a theory to this day

I was only like 3 when the first film came out >.<

My first memory of spiderman is watching it on either dvd/VHS with my older cousin

I used to love watching spidey 2 and 3 but I didn't remember much of them

in 1 he was the uh mc announcer in 2 he was the waiter? 9 or was that 3?)

But he’s.. not solely working class all his life.. he starts from somewhere. He starts out as a kid who basically got what you could call bad luck when they’re bitten by a spider and now they have powers.. He wasn’t always responsible about them and irresponsibility is what leads to Uncle Ben dying. I liked how clumsy he was in Homecoming because it shows he’s still that at his core: A kid prone to mistakes with powers that are still developing, who’s still fairly juvenile at heart.

Yes, things like uncle Ben aren’t thoroughly mentioned, and the media isn’t on his throat about everything, but honestly, that would have felt like repetition, after we just came off another reboot that was trying too hard to be gritty. If you just repeat these same things, even if you differentiate them... It becomes more of a joke or cliche rather than things that define the character.

He’s also struggled with missing out on dates and running out on friends in the comics, which happened in Homecoming. And there’s nothing wrong with him being more based in Queens this time, as I think it lends to the idea that he’s not quite there yet. Part of the appeal of Spidey, as we know, is that yes.. he is the everyday person, but going off his starting point, he’s ultimate a teenager in over his head.

I'm not an American so I don't know the difference between queen's and New York

As for it becoming a joke or cliche... Well the "Parker luck" is a trope that's constantly referenced/made fun of in the comics too

You know there’s one scene in Homecoming that kind of embodies my problem with MCU Spider-Man.

It’s the scene where he stops those robbers hearing the Avengers mask.

During the hassle a sandwich shop across the street from the bank gets blasted the mega weapons the robbers were carrying, while trying to hit Spider-Man.

My problem with that is nothing really happens.

The owner and his cat turn out fine, the building is damaged and then Peter pretty much says sorry and goes on with his life.

What makes Spider-Man an interesting character, what makes Peter Parker an interesting characters is that the world pretty much always screws him over, whether he does the right thing or not. Especially when he tries doing it his way. Things always blow up In his face.

Life is hard, unforgiving, for Peter Parker. But he still tries to do the right thing even if it means he gets hurt.

The closest thing we get to that in homecoming, is him giving back the Stark suit. (Which he gets back.) and him having to ditch his homecoming date.

I don't think it would have been terrible to see a Peter who has to deal with the consequences of his actions

And by the end of homecoming, he basically circles back into knowing he has to do it all on his own, and honestly, that moment with the rumble and the mask was my favorite

Mine too

I really enjoyed that moment a lot

I didn't appreciate the iron suit coming back tho pain

He rejects it though

He gets it in IW though, since.. well he would have died otherwise
