It's an unreal world on the other side in a videogame verse unless you are referring to the afterlife ala The Final World/mirror world w/ the stars in limbo|| for Melody of Memory. The MoM is seen in ||what's later revealed to be Quadratum in the secret ending of base

for them, it works both ways, but in the secret ending of kh3 it shows hints of the world being our reality, street lights, cars, ect. that's the biggest hint since they cannot understand this "fiction" yes the city is called Quadratum but we dont know what world it's from, is it a final fantasy or something new ?
