it's really rare for a fictional character to get away with murder, Strelitzia can obviously come back from the other side so it's possible here

Yeah. It does things we definitely perceive as bad but inherently we don't exactly know what it's after. It lacks understanding of humans and they lack understanding of Darkness

That's like saying it had a bad day to excuse the actions.

Did that make Ven a prince of light?

I'm not gonna excuse it but there is definitely more to it than that. In the end we have something to consider evil in its truest form and a man masked by mystery in which you can't exactly trust just because he wants to stop the Darkness. To what ends will he go to end it all?

I feel like KH is still trying to go the "not truly evil, just misguided" route with the saga antagonists. we saw how xehanort ended, and with MoM it really feels like he isnt necessarily evil, just trying to see his plan to the end and we just happen to be in the middle of it all
