It was decently easy. English Spanish and German phonetically have a lot in common.

german is notably not based on latin. the similarities with english come from the fact that the latter is a combination of latin and germanic influences.

obv theres some sharing between the two, having been adjacent for a long time, but not nearly to the extent that romance languages exhibit
