Yeah

I didn't think they would be this interesting though

I thought it was semi-common knowledge Vanitas’s story is firetrucked up.

First time seeing the text itself and not a secondhand retelling

Like, Xehanort regularly beats the shit out of Vanitas.

So he’s basically an abusive dad to him

Yee

firetrucked up father.

No wonder Vanitas hates everything

TW for graphic violence.

This is.

A 400+ page book.

Holy firetruck

I have college textbooks that are smaller

MAN.

i might have to cop up the novels now

No wonder Vanitas was so shook in Dark Road

It makes perfect sense now

The Unversed come from his emotions, they are a part of him. It’s an involuntary action and it hurts him when they are destroyed, since they’re connected to him because they are him.

They’re what he feels

That small snippet of Dark Road confirmed this novel, at least the Vanitas parts, are more canon then Nomura lets on.

do you think its possible ventus ends up eventually going back in time?

Which means his rage was literally “GOD DAMN IT STOP KILLING ME!!!”

if ventus goes back in time to where he originally came from. vanitas may very well change all together and re-iterate everything about him

It makes so much sense. All this time the reason Vanitas was pissed was because we were putting him through sheer agony.

The firetrucked up part, he inflicts physical pain upon himself because he gets overwhelmed by all the emotional pain, which causes Unversed to spawn, which is painful. So they’re destroyed, but it brings him more physical and emotional pain, which causes more to spawn.

It’s a never ending cycle of pain and misery.

All because a man decided to play god.

Holy shit

it depends

vanitas at the end of kh3 is different the vanitas originally introduce in terms of hatred

the pain could have eventually just became a common thing they didnt notice like second nature

considering all of that should have made him honestly more evil, and more destructive
