because it was the most frustrating game i've ever played. like, not being able to dodge roll in the beginning of the game was.... : | very very frustrating and not knowing the fastest way to level up limit form to get dodge roll was very very very frustrating. and that final xigbar fight took me months to finish

Man some people just really really really hate blocking I guess

As much as KH2 is a good game, I do have some issues with it.

well, i did [try to] use block but i just kept missing at the last sec (for SOME reason) and then i'd go >: < 

but i was satisfied when i finally finished the game tho

Don’t get me wrong not having any form of a dodge for a bit is pretty wack and questionable on the developers side, but I always felt they did it literally because they knew they made the blocking way better this time around, so they wanted you to get it early and get the hang of it before quick run as opposed to it being a random ability you get and dodge being the the infinitely better option

I do find it questionable that they locked growth abilities behind drive forms

i seriously didn't like how you have to level up the drive forms to get dodge roll, high jump, etc. 

But hey the ideal way I suppose is like with Kh3 where you just have both from the get go, as they’re pretty much essential tools of survival to have, but then again that just teaches players to not use block all that much because they’re under the same input basically, and that’ll forever be a big issue with KH it seems

Definitely, also having scan from the get go is super nice

Funny thing tho is that i used block a lot in KH3. Wonder what it was that made me

It's funny cuz KH3 block is the most unreliable

Being able to use it in the air probably helps you remember it more

@ElectriCole Definitely. i remember panicking when i didn't know what the Heartless' hp was in KHI 

Apparently, sometimes it just wont work like during the xehanort clones

I mean it's important to at least acknowledge it

Also KH2 had Reflect so that didn't help with using guard

True it really didn’t help teach anyone to use guard more, just makes people more likely to panic when their mp is down

Yeah I guess so, but as far as I’m aware these issues only really exist in like, 3 or 4 fights at most, any more than that and it’s just a freak accident bug

I just feel like on a base level when you compare it to all the other games, being able to guard in mid air and to be able to do it during attacks to cancel out of them, it’s by far the best it’s ever been

wait, it occasionally doesn't work in the replicanort fight? 

i don't think i've ever experienced that

If I had to guess it’s probably with the Marluxia clone since he’s the only other one that really comes to mind when I think of block not working

Well, that and one of YX’s whip attacks that I’ve definitely been able to block before but 80% of the time it doesn’t work, but I’ve just learned to dodge some of those tbh
