i didn't come to subspace emissary looking for a cohesive story, so i'm not gonna try to fault it for that, but what i got was still appreciated regardless

Yeah, if you try to analyze it, it really dumb. But if you turn your brain off and just see mario and link working together, it's pretty cool

It is cool from that perspective, but here's how I see it. If I want story, I'm going to play a story-based game. I don't need a wacky crossover fighting game to feed a narrative I feel obligated to experience because it takes up a large part of the game.

we get lucario and meta knight fighting on top of an iceberg while the ice climbers watch in awe at their raw badassery

like the earlier kh games to me embodied a fair bit of that raw feeling subspace gives off

i did not like word of light for one reason, a lack of character interactions

none of the characters get any moments together

completely missed opprotunity

I mean it's fine to play it for a bit and say, na not my thing, but to wish that it just wasn't a thing seems a bit far.

And the reason I feel obligated is because I spend good money on games. As such, I'm financially obligated to squeeze as much content out of every game as I can; whether I enjoy it or not.

they didnt even program the dlc characters to have their taunt voice lines during some of the minigames in the world of light section
