I wonder how much did xehanort know about quadratum

could it be to the extent of for example humans knowing about atlantis. "we know all these stories, theories,etc but nobody has been to it/can verify something is or was atlantis"

or did xehanort know more about it then what showed

He knew it existed and attempted to study it. If there’s a Xehanort in Quadratum I think that’ll answer the question.

I do have a theory there is another xehanort living in quadratum that mickey will discover

We have almost no clue, as far as I’m aware, what Xehanort was up to between Dark Road and a bit before BBS. That’s a lot of time he’s unaccounted for.

well we knew somewhat of stuff

khdr he hadn't given into darkness fully yet for his own goals

aside from the end portion when he is old

between the start and finish he had specific ideals he was going after

you could assume duirng the unaccounted time it was just failure which lead him to ultimately using darkness

so we got kid---->teen not fully in darkness*----> Old man *fully uses darkness

his resolve of shaving his head also possibly another testament to no longer failing, which would imply the years unaccounted were just constant failure at experiments/research

+ if nomuras artwork with xehanort in what appears to be quadratum leads to be what we encounter in kh4. They would most likely find him and learn about his knowledge which took place during the unaccounted time frame unless he has no memory

Something to consider, when Xehanort wanted/needed an earlier version of himself for his plans he went to a version that hadn’t even become a keyblade master yet. Why? Wouldn’t it make more sense to pull a version of him that was in his prime?

so possible he knew he could easily convince his young self to follow whatever him wanted vs his self in his 30s

His ideology doesn’t seem to change between his Dark Road self and his old man self though. He didn’t even have to manipulate his younger self as far as we can tell. Xehanort was always a prick.

Ansem SoD and Xemnas aren’t all Xehanort. They became their own people just like Roxas and Repliku had. They still followed Xehanort, but they had their own unique perspectives.

I would think a 25, 30 year old Xehanort would be just as willing to follow the old man as the young version we face.

the older self might have more reluctance thinking they need to do something the way they want it done

the older selves would know a good portion already and potentially be arrogant in listening to their older self on how things need to go

kinda like in the sense of your future self telling you something wont work, then you respond back just cause it failed for them doesnt mean it will fail for you

I suppose that makes sense. He is the most arrogant man in the room at all times, so he’d need a version of himself that doesn’t try to match that energy.

Another thing I was thinking though. What if two of the same keyblade can’t co-exist in the same space?

Like, the Starlight keyblade fairy tale users wield isn’t the same keyblade, it’s a single design mass produced. The No Name keys produced by the 13 clashes in KH3 are also just copies.

Maybe you can’t have multiple versions of the same exact keyblade in one place. Like how Xehanort couldn’t have multiple of himself present in one location so he had to turn to replicas.

If you fight YX in BBS he’s noticeably missing a keyblade. Then the keyblade Young Xehanort uses when we fight him in DDD & KH3 is Master Xehanort’s keyblade loaned to him with a different keychain attached.

It’s a stretch for sure, but maybe the old man needed a version of himself that didn’t possess No Name yet?
