I think that was one of the biggest signs Ansem SoD and Xemnas had become their own people.

KH3 is the most interesting Xemnas has ever been

Still, I always think Demyx is too perfect to be a part of the True Organization instead of Xion. I mean, I’d like to see him betray them like what Saïx, Marluxia and Larxene would do (not counting Vexen, because he was never chosen, he only became an Org just to find ATW). Xion to me is handled the same way as Aqua does

In KH2 he was just revealed as lying for his own agenda, and just was Xehanort 2. But KH3 has him actually feel genuine regret and sorrow

Demyx would have been an awful pick for an actual Org member to fight in KH3

Dude's a fun character yeah but like

I would rather an emotionally resonant character be there instead

I mean, I’d kill for another water clone fight

And it all ends with Xemnas finally coming to the realization that having a heart doesn’t make you weak

Why I'm also kinda okay with it looking like Xaldin got replaced with Dark Riku during development

Certainly wouldn't have matched to mood and tone set by the rest of the ORg

Cause Xaldin is cool and I would love a rematch, but the Repliku scenes in KH3 are peak

And it could be good seeing one musician going against another musician in battle

Why would you call a fight between two soloists a battle of the bands

Because it is what I call a musical fight

Either the battle of the bands or duelling banjos style

The main reason for that was I believe both Dilan and Aeleus' voice actors pasted away in JP and they wanted to give respect to those characters, same reason why Phil didn't talk in KH3

But which musician would Demyx have to fight against?

And why would he use his sitar as a weapon with another artist who also has an instrument for a weapon?

Or even their own singing voice?

Ah. I hadn’t considered the JP side of it. I know the English VA for Phil is over 80 years old so I just figured that had something to do with him not returning.
