I don't think Master Eraqus cheated in his game vs Xehanort. Remember it's a chess-like game, but there may be rules or abilities that players can use to gain an advantage

For Eraqus, it's to summon more assistance

For Xehanort, it's to move more than one piece per turn

I think it's akin to, Xehanort won- but Eraqus won harder

I think at one point, Eraqus was winning, then Xehanort activated his ability
