He is an entity of pure darkness, and there's no way SE would be allowed to get away with anything less than at least a pair of trousers for decency's sake. Vanitas didn't even have proper form until Ventus's heart connected with Sora, so he'd probably have looked like a base replica or a mannequin or something. Wonder what he sounded like before he sounded like HJO. It's possible the bodysuit is inherent in his nature as a being of darkness, since he wore it upon being created.

It's because Roxas is the character that they got the most right with. His Life, His arc, his relationship with the Organization. How he was being used by both the Organization and Diz because he can use the Keyblade for being Sora's nobody. Everyone wanted Sora's Power. Not Roxas.
