If you count all the remakes, final mixes and upcoming games, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the 13th game in the series, as well as the conclusion of 'The Xehanort Saga'.

 

KH1, KH1FM, CoM, Re:Com, KH2, KH2FM, 358/2 Days, Coded, Re:Coded, BBS, BBSFM, KH3D, KH3.

 

Unless they make a 3D final mix, of course.

Well also, they're going to enter to conceptual stages soon, thus meaning that KH3, while it is still coming out in the near future, will probably be getting released in like 2013 at the earliest, so chances are that theres gonna be some other games between 3D and KH3

i thought the games that Nomura said that we wanted to release before KH3 were Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and Kingdom Hearts 3D, and also Final Fantasy Verses XIII but i mean the Kingdom Hearts games that were gonna be released before Kingdom Hearts 3 were those 3 Kingdom Hearts games i already said but idk and if that is true then KH3 will be the 13th game in the series to be released if you count all the final mixes and remakes.

Well maybe after Xehanort saga they might use Disney/Pixar movies. Because we are eventually gonna run out of just plain old disney movies. Id love to see Bolt or The incredibles in at least one KH game.

well, depending on what SE does with KH3D, there may be a need for another game between that and KH3. in re:coded's secret ending, Yen Sid calls for a mark of mastery test for Riku and Sora. if KH3D covers the mark of mastery test, then they just need to put in whatever else is necessary for the storyline, and then they can continue on to KH3. if KH3D is something else, then they may need to add a game to cover the mark of mastery test.

2013? Hell no. According to an article that was posted in the News Section of these forums, versus won't be complete until about late 2014. We all know that KH3 can't begin until Versus is completed.

 

2014 + One year of planning+ two years of development+ one year for world wide release= 2018

 

Call me a pessimist but that is the most logical date KH3 can come out unfortunately. Unless Square has been working on KH3 in secrecy.

I dunno, KH 3D is looking at a late 2011 release, that's only two years all together (Presumably)

So I don't think it would be hard to get the game out 2013 or 2014.

Especially if they start working on it 2011.

i thought Nomrua said that there were gonna be three games before Kingdom Hearts 3 and i thoguth those three games were: Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and Kingdom Hearts 3D. but hey could be wrong and he might want another game before kingdom hearts 3

Basically, originally there was BBS and either 3D or Re:Coded, then either Re:Coded or 3D got added to the list on short notice.

Nomura stated in an interview that there would be one more game after KH3D, so that'll mean that KH3 will be the 14th game in the series

Or the next significant game won't be KH3.

Or more spinoffs and remakes.
