Nah Riku was straight up doubting himself. DDD was the full redemption

Like even in KH2 Riku still doubted himself severely. Like he was beating himself up over it for the longest time.

riku was doubting if he was a good person still, even after what he did. He was wondering if the good hes been doing has actually redeemed him

It's a not a true redemption until you forgive yourself and accept it

by the end of kh2 hes kind of confident in the fact his friends have forgave him

but yeah i agree DDD has him forgive himself in a way that still feels original

KH2 was redemption in forgiveness from friends. But Riku never forgave himself for it until DDD

i think i still liked riku even from chain of memories after he chose to do better by his friends and protect sora as he slept

That was probably the best you got out of Riku in CoM. Not gonna lie but the whole smelling darkness stuff was dumb

Riku moreso uses any control he has of the darkness for good

on the gba is like "i could taste your darkness from a mile away"

Oh Lord. I never made it through GBA CoM

Mostly cause someone borrowed it and never gave it back

honestly some of the deaths are darker in the gba version

like lexeaus instead of just being killed by riku, blows himelf up in an effort to consume riku in darkness

there are some distinct differences in how characters dissapear

as well as other things related to the organization

remember how in chain of memories aerith has a one on one with sora about not being real and then she dissapears and he forgot about them

oh yeah theres axels "commit it to memory" instead of saying "got it memorized"

oh right the organization never brings up the fact that they dont have hearts in chain of memories

only every mentioning "unlocking the secrets of the heart"

it does but its pretty odd to think of gba twilight town

It's just weird that he has the memories of it though

Like I understand roxas is his nobody

But sora didnt recomplete like other nobodies

So technically theres no reason for him to have those memories other than Namine artificially placing them there simply because of Roxas. But did roxas have such a close connection to TT by then?

also the song that plays in gba twilight town for its battle theme and town theme is lazy afternoons
