I've accepted that there will always be some things in the games that won't appeal to me.

XY was really easy and straight forward

It doesn't stop me from loving the series.

It was, in the sense that it followed the basic "get gym badges, challenge League" formula.

The legendary should've had more story to them since they're literally "life and death"

But it was kinda bloated with the amount of characters it threw at you.

And they weren't particularly engaging characters, either, even by Pokemon's standards.

oh, we're doing the whole series? alright, lemme see what i remember. after gen 3, i went with diamond, white, y, moon, and sword. can't remember if i got any "3rd" versions for any of those, though i remember skipping b2/w2 because i thought they weren't important at the time

Nah for me that was Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. The game spells out everything to you and it single-handedly got me into JRPGs.

It even walks you through how to put on equipment. That’s how baby game it is. And yet I still love it.
