hence they end up making quaIity games

they need quaIity if they wanna stand out
pokemon doesn't need quaIity, they aIready have the top spot

we've practicaIIy had the same exact worId aesthetics for the Iast 10 years cuz their formuIa continues to work

but the things they try to put in are just
meh

particuIarIy in how totaIIy Iacking in personaIity the pokemon and the enemy teams are
they have
maaayybe 1 or 2 unique animations
that's it

sword and shieId didn't even give it's npcs cIapping animations whiIe there was a cIapping subtitIe

They didn't give my boy Piers a singing voice when he sang

despite how Iinear the games are, there's no attempt at giving the characters voices
because then they'd have to give them Iip-sync
and normaI cutscene animations

I guess legends arcues was like, the pokemom game ever, according to my friends. I didn't play it.

Iegends has good steps forward
an open-ish worId, catching pokemon is kinda enjoyabIe
and the battIes are fresh

it's a shame then that ScarIet and VioIet are very um
odd in this sense

l've seen gamepIay of Iegends styIe catching, but normaI battIes as weII
