look, at least they gave it context. there's something about memory-something-or-others involved in the story, so it works well enough. you could argue they shouldn't have included anything memory-related because then they wouldn't have included the old stages, but it's too late for that

if these stages did anything with a concept as cooI as warping memories

the stages are entireIy static, you won't see it transform into the originaI version of a stage, you won't see any cooI distortions or things to mess with how you remember the stage

what do you mean "i'd believe you"? i just told you the description talked about tails' memories, so wouldn't you be calling into question the veracity of the video description at that point?
and even if you "believed" it, what does that have to do with what you want from the stages? your thoughts seem to be all over the place

what l mean is, that it sounds Iike the devs made that as an excuse.

these stages have nothing to do with taiIs, so why are they heIping us reIease him.
the whoIe "it's [character's] memories" or "it couId be anyone's memories" just sounds aimIess when you puII stages from absoIuteIy anywhere

in any other game, l'd say "oh it's because this pIace is super weird or smthn idk" but because this is Sonic Team masters of reusing oId content* l firmIy beIieve they came up with a reason *after they decided they needed more content.

TL;DR
l beIieve the cyberstages were made because sonic team needed extra content, not because they had an idea of how to incorporate it into the story, because the cyberstages have nothing to do with the character we're rescuing's memories (which are supposedIy the whoIe point of the [character] memory tokens).

just because there's a reason given doesn't mean that reason justifies everything

perhaps i wasn't clear. the clip i watched mentioned tails' memories not as the driving factor of the plot, but like, here on this particular island we're working with tails' memories, making it sound like other islands will be dedicated the memories of other characters (possibly even shadow, idk)
also, why is it not ok for sonic team to say "this place is super weird" all of a sudden? isn't that like half of the adventures sonic gets into in the first place?
and how are you gonna say the cyberspace stuff was shoehorned in when we have an enemy race that seems to be entirely robotic along with a core mechanic that integrates it (that cy-loop or whatever)?

the problems you're coming up with feel like you're slipping, grasping at straws. you're better than that, i've seen it

the fact of the matter is, we have no idea what all the story entails any more than what we've been shown. it remains to be seen how relevant everything is to everything else
