how are you switching between buttons and joystick so fast ? i went with indexes on R1/L1 and thumbs for joysticks and it's hard for me to keep up the pace

on ultimate*

maybe it's jsut a matter of training my finger a bit but it was very tiring and i don't see how to do it only with thumbs

yeah it's just practice haha. my first attempt at this song I couldn't even pass bc like you said this one needs to switch between button and stick a LOT and i wasn't used to playing with L/R

in that video i did yep, minus one section around 0:51 where i could not for the life of me lose the bad muscle memory so i switch to R to hit that one part

this entire part is so well done

it works so well in terms of how the character was set up from the beginning

lol, i'm in the same boat as noleen, more or less. it's rough trying to keep track of 4 different lanes, not to mention it uses joystick notes a lot more frequently than something like mom (last rhythm game i played as reference)

doubt i'll end up playing the full game, but damn does it suck that you don't get access to more songs in the demo

30 songs is a lot for the demo

Standard is already hard for me, no way I can do the hardest one

no no, it's a lot, for sure, it's just... idk, it feels cramped when it's limited to about 6 games in total. like, i'd prefer if it could be 30 songs but spread out over the whole selection, with 1 or 2 songs per entry. at least they didn't put a majority of the available songs into 7

as for the comment about difficulty, I completely understand not being able to play harder charts especially if you're coming from MoM which is an EXTREMELY easy rhythm game in the grand scheme of things

but like

idk the thing i love about this series

is that it's not JUST a rhythm game ya know

there's so much content on the rpg and collecting side of things too

like not trying to convince you to change your mind or anything

but man I've been obsessed with this series from the beginning because of this aspect lol

i still vividly remember the day the first game was announced. literally no one cared bc it was a spinoff and then there was me, pogging tf out in the corner because i literally got into gaming because of ff and have loved ff my whole life AND because i grew up loving rhythm games

it was a dream come true lmao

and this latest entry really is a love letter that tiny group of fans that feel the same way as me because MAN they put SO MUCH LOVE AND EFFORT INTO THIS ONE

from the song selection total to the large cast to the many non FF games making it in, all the way over to the rhythm game side of things like adding rainbow crit, early/late indicators, background masking, offsets, EVEN ISOLATION TRAINING MODE
