It all comes down to manpower and budget

Those are time consuming and takes way too long

Just need to find that talent

Indie is tough

Talen only takes you so far, those two are way more important

Kena did what it did because it came from a studio making movies and then got a big budget help from Sony

Not everyone has that opportunity

Like cuphead was a great thing too, even before MS helped

Mfs mortgaged they're houses

And that was a big risk. Look how long it took for the DLC to come out

Base game came out in2017 and the DLC last year

Luck and connections takes you farther than talent unfortunately.

What they wanted to do is fantastic for the style but they even knew how long that would be

That's kinda the point here. That's why you see more indie games taking cues from snes style games because it takes less time and a lot less risk.

PS2/Gamecube games are great and all, but they take money, manpower and time. Not something every indie developer can do.
