i actually thought it was gonna be interstellar the game LMAO

somehow

LMFAOOO I think someone in VC at the time thought that too

I've definitely soured on this year's game awards the more I think about it

Geoff is a cool dude but he needs to do some reevaluating on the structure and lay out.

It was a huge overcorrection from last year with Judge.

Like yeah he took 8 minutes for his speech so get being wary

But there's a difference between 30 seconds and 8 minutes

I don't really care for the celebrity cameos, like yeah why not

But if Anthony Mackie is allows to be on stage to try and recreate his own Keanu Reeves moment or Simu Liu gets to talk about his damaged foot for 5 minutes but devs only get 30 seconds then there is something very wrong here

Get the cash for advertisement and do what you want, but if the devs don't get the chance to actually talk on a show that's supposed to be about celebrating them making games then don't make an award show. Just do winter Games fest.

I did think it was extremely unfair that the game developers* at the *GAME Awards were rushed off stage while the big schlong cool kids Hollywood people seemingly got unlimited time.

Like there's no denying that the trailers and stuff gets more eyes on this show, but that's why you use it to prop developers up.

And listen I love Kojima, like seriously I'll firetruckin fight all of you for him BUT he did not need 10 mins to debut a teaser and say "I'm working with Mr. Peele and this is a new type of game"
.I'm like yeah no shit all of your games are lmao

Also apparently there's some sus business going on with the Steamdeck giveaway?

Yeah I heard about that but we have to wait a few weeks to see if that one actually was a scam his year or not

Ima be honest here ok

And yeah those two working together sounds fun and I kind of expect this to end horribly in a good way, but they could have done this announcement in a minute

If people want to really show there support to the industry watch the befta's they do that there. The major problem is we watch TGA for the announcements and a huge majority does, as sad as it is, it's a Games show case disguised as an award show.

I can agree with that

I mean I was explicitly watching for the trailers lol

Especially since my personal GOTY got ignored 😭

I half agree there?

If Geoff really cares he should have the TGA split to 2 days one for awards the next day for reveals, so that way it's not cluttered af

Like yeah I agree the baftas is the better one for devs

But TGA also gets waaaay more eyes on it

Because of....

Say it with me

I know I know

The Reveals

But that's why they should use this instance to actually prop the devs up. Get more names out there so people can recognize.

okay but like

Can't when you got celebs and advertising to keep up with
