I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

I feel like No Way Home def has something

Oh for sure

im working right now so too lazy to explore youtube looking for them

but i can remember a few lmao

Literally the trilogy itself

TRUE

don't get this one at aII tbh

Iike, why they started Iaughing

is otto octavious such an odd name

Yeah that one was weird to me ngl

perfect example of my "let's mosey" with epic music into tifa/aerith laughing

LMAOO

LMFAO

😔

Imo it's less "the characters think it's funny" and more "we'll insert this joke here to make light of how the character's name makes it sound like he was pulled directly out of a comic book" (he literally was though?) for the audience

hence

MCU humor

lmaoo

humor for the audience at the expense of breaking character and/or pacing

I just don't think it can all be lumped into that category though. If I direct a movie and I think the "he's right behind me" thing is funny, I don't want to include it for some 4th wall break for the audience or refrain from including for fear of being accused of "MCU humor"

the important part about it is the breaking character/pacing here imo

if you use it well its fine

MCU usually does it at the expense of other things

they dont have much natural humor going on

they had characters like Stark that would naturally bring humor with them all the time, but not all characters can be written that way either so they have to force it in through other means

and then theres the GotG crew which has plenty of humor going on for them already and they still decide to force in the weird moments like invisible drax LOL

It's honestly getting annoying at this point lol

Tbf, the drax scene wasn't in a gotg movie so gunn may not have had as much control over it

true true

On a related note, black widow in what if season 2. She kinda feels... Off? Like I get that these are alternate universe versions and all, but she feels less like MCU black widow and more like "lake bell doing her poison ivy role but with a black widow skin slapped on it"

(lake bell is very talented, of course. That's not the focus here)

i havent even looked at the s2 trailer lol

there's a what if season 2??

MCU Stans on Twitter be like:

Nah bih U's annoyin bruh- MCU peak hot fire spitting fax machine no paper
